
PM Modi directs officials after chairing J&K security meet
In the wake of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in the last four days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired a review meeting of the security situation wherein he was apprised of the counter-terror efforts being undertaken in the Union Territory.
PM Modi directed the officials to deploy a full spectrum of counter-terror capabilities after chairing the review meeting.
In the meeting attended by the National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and other officials, PM Modi was also briefed on the efforts being undertaken by the local administration.
PM Modi also spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed the deployment of security forces and counter-terror operations. He also spoke to J&K L-G Manoj Sinha and took stock of the situation in the UT.
Police and security forces have now sounded an alert in Jammu province and also stepped up their operations against militants who are on the run and have carried out attacks in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda to divert attention from Rajouri and Poonch districts.
The J&K Police released sketches of four terrorists involved in two attacks in Doda district. Police also announced a reward of Rs.20 lakh for all four of them, Rs.5 lakh for each to anyone giving tangible information leading to these terrorists.
A police spokesman said that the J&K Police have released sketches of four terrorists who are believed to be hiding in the upper reaches of Bhaderwah, Thathri, and Gandoh.
