“We also exchanged views on the regional situation and reaffirmed our shared resolve to fight terrorism with greater determination,” the Prime Minister said.
This marks the first direct conversation between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Netanyahu since the beginning of 2026.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu initiated the phone call and briefed Modi on the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan. The leaders also discussed regional security developments amid ongoing tensions in West Asia.
India and Israel share close strategic ties, particularly in the areas of defence, counter-terrorism, technology, agriculture and innovation, and have consistently underscored cooperation against global terrorism.
