PM Modi thunders at Katra rally
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a resolute message at a rally in Katra on Thursday, emphasizing that India would not allow Pakistan to impose its agenda in Jammu and Kashmir.
His remarks come in response to Pakistan’s attempts to engage with local parties in the region.
Addressing a crowd, PM Modi stated, “I am saying loud and clear that we will not allow Pakistan to run its agenda in Jammu and Kashmir,” referring specifically to comments made by Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif regarding Article 370.
PM Modi launched a scathing critique of the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance, alleging that their manifesto aligns with Pakistani interests. “The admiration of the Congress-NC agenda by the Pakistani minister exposes their unholy alliance,” he said, vowing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not permit such an alignment to take root.
The Prime Minister accused the Congress and NC of jeopardizing India’s interests and pointed out the historical consequences of Pakistani infiltration in the region. “Pakistan’s wicked plots have caused immense suffering in Jammu and Kashmir, yet they align themselves with our adversaries,” he asserted.
Earlier in the day, Home Minister Amit Shah echoed PM Modi’s sentiments, criticizing the NC-Congress alliance for allegedly facilitating Pakistani influence in the electoral process. “Pakistan and Congress share the same intentions regarding Article 370,” he stated.
In his speech, PM Modi emphasized the importance of the upcoming elections, declaring, “This election will decide the future of Jammu and Kashmir.” He expressed confidence that the BJP’s vision for “Naya Kashmir” would prevail, highlighting the past failures of the NC, Congress, and PDP in serving the region.
He also underscored the BJP’s commitment to national integrity, stating, “For us, the nation comes first, and we will always defend our frontiers and punish our enemies.”
In a broader cultural context, PM Modi addressed perceptions of the Congress party, claiming it undermines Indian traditions. “The Congress cannot protect our faith. Their ideologies insult our gods and goddesses,” he declared, framing the party’s actions as part of a larger ideological struggle.
The Prime Minister concluded his address by urging the electorate to deliver a strong mandate to the BJP, promising that the government would prioritize statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the region’s progress.
As the political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir evolves, PM Modi’s rally signals a robust campaign strategy aimed at consolidating support for the BJP while countering narratives from rival parties.
