Daily users are down about 160,000 from the June 2025 peak
Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, is losing its audience even as the US President keeps using it as his main megaphone. The decline comes just ahead of the midterm elections.
What the data shows
According to an analysis by the digital intelligence firm Similarweb, Truth Social’s traffic fell by more than 30 per cent in the year ending September. The platform averaged around 260,000 daily users last month, down from a peak of 420,000 in June 2025, a loss of roughly 160,000 users.
A busy poster, a shrinking audience
Trump posts on the platform daily. He uses it to comment on the war in Iran, announce new policies and share AI-generated videos of himself. The audience that sees those posts directly, however, is shrinking.
Far behind the giants
The numbers are small next to the big platforms. Facebook has more than 2 billion daily users and X has over 130 million worldwide. Truth Social’s parent company, Trump Media, has also been reporting growing net losses. The platform’s future looks uncertain heading into the elections, with Trump’s approval ratings and legal troubles adding to the picture.
A risk the company has flagged
Trump Media relies largely on advertising for its revenue. In its filings, the company has warned that a fall in user engagement could hurt its business by making the platform less attractive to advertisers.
