Anil Dujana was in the list of most wanted criminals in Uttar Pradesh

On Thursday afternoon, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) shot dead dreaded gangster Anil Dujana, in an encounter.

This is the second high-profile killing by UP STF in an encounter after the killing of Atiq Ahmad’s son Asad in Jhansi last month.

Dujana, who had 62 cases including that murders, robbery, land grabs, and extortion registered against him, was on the list of most wanted criminals in the state. He had been in jail since 2012 but was granted bail in 2021. He was feared in parts of Western Uttar Pradesh and ran an organized criminal gang.

After being nabbed in a triple murder case in 2012, Dujana started operating his criminal empire from jail with the help of other criminals Randeep Bhati and Amit Kasana. Dujana planned and directed his aides to execute murders, extortion, and other criminal activities while sitting in jail.

He carried a reward of Rs.50,000 by Noida Police and was booked with several charges, including National Security Act (NSA) and Goonda Act. He also had a bounty of Rs.25, 000 announced by Bulandshahr Police.
