Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on ‘pujaris’ spark a row

In response to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi‘s statement, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), accused him of insulting priests and called his act a reflection of “vinash kaale viprit buddhi” (good sense going for a toss in times of crisis).

VHP’s national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that Congress’ anti-Hindu face had been exposed by Gandhi’s statement and that the people would never forgive him for this.

Bansal alleged that Congress is responsible for making the Hindus second-class citizens, for Muslim appeasement, and for promoting Christian missionaries in the last 70 years, and of now turning opportunist in the wake of Hindu Rashtra.

He further said that Gandhi flaunted his Hindu identity to win elections, and now identifies as an ascetic. Bansal accused Congress of creating a rift in Hindu society by insulting the priests.

BJP leader hits back at Rahul Gandhi

Meanwhile, even the BJP took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi for his statement regarding ‘tapasya (penance)’ and ‘puja (worship)’. BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh said that such words did not suit the Congress leader.

Chugh added that those who opposed India’s culture, values, and cultural heritage for decades have now become devout devotees, but the people were familiar with their harsh realities.

Hitting back at the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Chugh said that those whose history is full of arrogance, tyranny, Emergency, nepotism, fraud, corruption, and loot, do not like ‘tapasya‘ and ‘puja‘.

In the statements regarding Gandhi’s candidature for the Prime Minister’s post, Chugh termed him as the prince of Disney World and said that the opposition party leaders who did not even participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, would never be united for this.

Responding to Kharge’s statement about Ram Mandir and Ramrajya, Chugh claimed that Congress got agitated whenever someone talked about Ayodhya and Ram Mandir.
