Yogi Adityanath to lead UP delegation to Davos next month

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would be leading a delegation from Uttar Pradesh to participate in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, from January 16 to January 20. Yogi Adityanath will be the first chief minister of UP to be attending the WEF meeting.

Invest UP’, the state’s investment promotion and facilitation agency, has been delegated the responsibility to make arrangements for the trip and take the help of the industry body Confederation of Indian Industries, as and when required.

The WEF meeting will bring leaders from government, business, and civil society together to address the state of the world and discuss priorities for the year ahead.

Sources said that in addition to participation in the event, the CM will invite investors to UP which in size is equal to the fifth largest country in the world. Analysts believe that Yogi’s presence in Davos would add immensely to UP’s overall brand value besides speaking positively about the change created in the past five years.

Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) have been engaged for the event that eyes to attract an investment of over Rs.10 lakh crore to the state. In a build-up for the same, deputy chief ministers, senior cabinet ministers, and officials from the state government will travel to 19 cities across 17 countries between December 9 and 19.

CM Yogi is also likely to travel for the same purpose in January 2023. Roadshows have been planned in important cities across Indian states as well. The summit is part of UP’s larger goal of becoming one trillion-dollar economy by the end of 2027 which is also being pursued in an organized way.
