Operation Sindoor success triggers Opposition unease: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition during a rally in Bihar’s Arrah on Sunday, accusing the Congress and its ally Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of being unsettled by the success of Operation Sindoor. Addressing a massive gathering ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the Prime Minister said the “Congress royal family spent sleepless nights” after the military operation.
“The explosions took place in Pakistan, but the Congress royal family and their friends in RJD were restless. The naamdaars of Pakistan and Congress are yet to recover from the shock of Operation Sindoor,” Modi said, taking a direct swipe at the Gandhis.
He also mocked the Opposition INDIA bloc over reports of internal discord within the RJD-Congress alliance. “The NDA is marching forward with the pledge of Viksit Bharat (developed India). On the other hand, Congress and RJD are fighting among themselves. A day before the deadline for withdrawal of nominations, a game of thuggery unfolded behind closed doors in Bihar,” he said.
Modi claimed that RJD forced Congress into naming its leader as the alliance’s chief ministerial face. “RJD held a katta (gun) to Congress’s head and stole the Chief Minister post. They forced the announcement. The Congress never wanted an RJD leader as CM,” he alleged.
The Prime Minister said that the rift within the Opposition camp reflected deeper dysfunction. “Congress was not consulted on the manifesto and has no say in the campaign. If there is so much hatred before the polls, imagine what will happen later. Such people cannot work for Bihar’s progress,” he remarked.
Modi contrasted the NDA’s governance record with what he described as the “darkness of jungle raj” under previous RJD governments. “Jungle raj is the darkness that hollowed Bihar out. It was marked by katta (gun), kroorta (cruelty), katuta (bitterness), kusanskar (superstition), kusashan (misgovernance), and corruption,” he said. “Nitish Kumar and the NDA have pulled Bihar out of that difficult era,” he added.
Accusing the Opposition of supporting illegal infiltrators, the Prime Minister asked voters to “protect Bihar’s resources.” “They are committed to protecting infiltrators. Aren’t those shielding them criminals? Their goals are dangerous — beware of such people. They have graduated from jungle raj’s pathshala,” Modi said.
Taking a dig at the RJD and its Left allies, he added, “Those who once shut factories can never create new jobs. When investors see the lantern (RJD’s symbol) and the red flag (CPIML symbol), will they invest here? Only NDA can bring investment and employment to Bihar.”
Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to Bihar to campaign for the NDA ahead of the assembly polls scheduled for November 6 and 11. Vote counting will take place on November 14.
