Four arrested in Rohini; sophisticated foreign-made pistols seized
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has uncovered a major international illegal arms network allegedly linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, which was supplying sophisticated China and Turkey-made weapons to some of the most notorious gang networks operating in north India.
According to officials, the weapons were meant for members of the Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha and Gogi–Himanshu Bhai syndicates. Investigators said the consignments were smuggled into India from Pakistan using drones, entering through Punjab before being distributed across the national capital region.
Four arrested, high-end pistols seized
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police arrested four individuals from Rohini. The accused have been identified as residents of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. A significant cache of advanced weaponry—including multiple China- and Turkey-manufactured pistols—was recovered from them.
“Delhi Police Crime Branch team has busted an arms gang being operated by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Four people have been arrested and 10 sophisticated pistols have been recovered, including five from Turkey and three from China,” CP Crime Surender Kumar said.
He added that two of the accused—Mandeep of Phillaur and Dalwinder of Ludhiana—were arrested on November 19 while attempting to deliver weapons in Rohini. Subsequent interrogation led to further raids and the recovery of additional firearms. The remaining two accused are Rohan Tomar of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, and Ajay alias Monu.
Security tightened after Red Fort blast
The development comes at a time when Delhi and the NCR are on high alert following the November 10 Red Fort blast, in which a suicide bomber detonated an explosive-laden car near one of the capital’s busiest zones. The attack killed at least 14 people and injured more than 20. The government declared the incident a terrorist attack two days later.
