Lawrence Bishnoi gang has alleged it was meant as a warning over the singer’s association with Salman Khan
A gym operating under singer Guru Randhawa‘s fitness franchise network came under attack in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar after unidentified assailants opened fire at the premises late Wednesday night. No injuries were reported in the incident, but the attack has once again drawn attention to the activities of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and its continued threats against public figures.
According to Delhi Police, multiple rounds were fired at the gym by two motorcycle-borne individuals whose faces were covered. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information about the firing and began an investigation.
The gym is part of Guru Randhawa’s ‘24HS Fitness‘ franchise network and is reportedly operated by a local franchise holder in Delhi. Authorities have called the owner for questioning as part of the ongoing probe.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the attack through social media posts, which are currently being verified by investigators. In one such post, alleged gang member Anil Pandit claimed the gym was targeted to send a warning to Guru Randhawa, accusing the singer of becoming “very close” to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The post also contained threats of further action against perceived rivals of the gang.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and collecting forensic evidence from the scene to identify the attackers and establish the exact motive behind the incident.
The latest attack comes against the backdrop of the long-running hostility between the Bishnoi gang and Salman Khan. The dispute is linked to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan, in which Salman Khan was convicted in 2018. The Bishnoi community regards the blackbuck as sacred, and the issue has remained a recurring point of reference in threats issued by the gang over the years.
In recent years, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been linked to several high-profile criminal incidents involving celebrities and public figures. The gang came into national focus following the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Since then, it has allegedly claimed responsibility for or been linked to threats and attacks targeting figures including Salman Khan, AP Dhillon, Gippy Grewal, Kapil Sharma and others.
Police officials have stated that the investigation into the Delhi gym firing remains ongoing and that all angles, including the authenticity of the social media claims, are being examined.
