A school bus carrying around 50 children lost control and overturned by the roadside near Kondhwad village in the Rahuri area of Ahilyanagar on Saturday morning. Between 10 and 15 students sustained injuries, with one child in critical condition, though no fatalities were reported.

On learning of the accident, locals and police rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations, pulling children from the overturned bus and admitting the injured to a nearby private hospital.

One student killed after tree falls on school bus in Mumbai
The Ahilyanagar accident comes three days after a separate incident in Mumbai, in which an 11-year-old student was killed and four others injured when a peepal tree fell on a school bus amid heavy rains. The incident occurred around 2:58 pm near a building on Road No. 11, as the bus was ferrying 13 students of Universal High School home. Fire brigade personnel and other agencies, along with the bus driver, conductor and local residents, evacuated all students, including two who had been trapped inside the bus. The five injured students, aged between 4 and 12, were rushed to a nearby private hospital.
