Nagpur private military school director arrested over sexual abuse allegations
The director of a private military school in Nagpur’s Saoner taluka has been arrested after a teenage student approached the police with allegations of sexual and mental harassment at the institution.
According to the complaint, several minor girls were allegedly subjected to inappropriate touching and obscene acts and were allegedly coerced into sexual activity under the pretext of military training. The complaint also alleges that some students were called to the school office late at night.
The students reportedly raised the matter with teachers around two months ago, but alleged that no action was taken at the time. The allegations later led to a police complaint by one of the teenage survivors.
The school had 56 students, including 14 girls. Following the allegations, 11 of the girls reportedly left the institution, leaving only three girls currently studying there.
Nagpur Rural Police has registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant provisions. The investigation is underway.
Authorities are now examining the allegations and the circumstances in which the complaints were initially brought to the attention of school staff.
