Villagers say Rs 12 lakh has been approved for school construction

Members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) were stopped by villagers while attempting to visit a government school in Rampura-Kanwarpura village in Rajasthan on Friday, according to news agency PTI.

The villagers said they did not want the condition of the school to become a political issue and maintained that the community was capable of taking up the construction work itself.

A villager said Rs 12 lakh had already been approved for the school and that residents were prepared to build the facility themselves.

“We don’t want to politicise the issue. Rs 12 lakh has been approved for our school. Villagers are capable of building the school,” the villager said.

The resident pointed out that the villagers had earlier built a temple and said they could similarly build a “temple of education“.

“We had constructed a temple earlier and we are capable of building a temple of education as well. We don’t want any support from Cockroach Janata Party,” the villager said.

The villager also expressed opposition to the party, alleging that its members had made statements about dividing the country and used objectionable language against Lord Ram.

We oppose such people. We need people who work for the country,” the villager said.

CJP alleges attack on its volunteers

The incident comes amid the CJP’s ongoing campaign to inspect government schools and highlight alleged shortcomings in public education infrastructure.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that party volunteers were attacked while visiting the government school. He also accused the Rajasthan Police of remaining a “mute spectator” during the alleged incident.

CJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka alleged that BJP workers were behind the attack on the party’s team. He claimed that the school had been operating from a buffalo shed for several years and questioned the opposition to the CJP’s attempt to inspect it.

The CJP has been running its “School Thik Karo” campaign, under which its members have been visiting government schools to highlight infrastructure and other problems.

Earlier this week, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke visited government schools in Maharashtra and raised concerns over facilities, including classroom maintenance and access to clean drinking water.

The villagers in Rampura-Kanwarpura, however, maintained that they did not want the school issue to be used for political purposes and said the community was capable of addressing its infrastructure needs.
