Pig eye surface into a human eye

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]A[/dropcap]n eye institute in China Shandong area of control announced on Monday the successful transplant of a bio-designed and made pig eye surface into a human eye.


“The patient’s vision has slowly improved after a three month recovery period, which means thetransplant was a success,” said Zhai Hualei, director of Shandong Eye Institute’s eye-surface-related division.

Cornea are one of the biggest causes of blindness in China. New cases are increasing by 100,000 each year, however, only about 5,000 people receive an eye-surface-related transplant every year.
