Nine killed, 33 injured in the gruesome attack
Barely an hour before Narendra Modi took the oath of office as Prime Minister of India for the third time in succession, a group of suspected Pakistani terrorists targeted a passenger bus ferrying pilgrims in which 9 pilgrims were killed and 33 others were injured in the Reasi district on Sunday.
The bus was returning from Shiv Khori shrine towards the Katra base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine when these terrorists hiding in the area opened indiscriminate firing on the pilgrim bus.
According to initial reports, the same group of terrorists, responsible for targeted attacks on army convoys in the Rajouri and Poonch districts, were hiding in the area and targeted the bus driver.
A joint team of security forces has launched a massive manhunt to track down the group of terrorists.
According to a statement of the Jammu and Kashmir police spokesman, the incident took place at about 6.10 p.m. in the Pouni area of Reasi district bordering Rajouri district.
The injured have been rushed to the district hospital in Reasi and Katra-based private hospital for advanced medical treatment.
SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma while sharing details of the targeted attack told reporters, “Initial reports suggest that terrorists fired upon the passenger bus going from Shiv Khori to Katra. Due to the firing, the bus driver lost the balance of the bus and it fell into a gorge. So far nine pilgrims succumbed to their fatal injuries and 33 people were injured in the incident”.
The identities of the passengers have not been confirmed yet. It appears they are from Uttar Pradesh, she added.
Shiv Khori shrine was secured and area domination was done, SSP told reporters.
The injured were evacuated with the help of local villagers and security personnel rushed to the spot.
According to a police spokesman, eight deaths have been confirmed. The 33 injured have been referred to various hospitals. District headquarter hospital Reasi (13), CHC Treyath (5), GMC in Jammu (15).

Terrible news from Reasi in J&K where 10 yatris have reportedly lost their lives & many more are injured after a terror attack on a bus. I unequivocally condemn this attack. It is unfortunate to see areas that had previously been cleared of all militants see a return of militancy. May the deceased rest in peace & may the injured make a swift recovery.

Beyond condemnation, politicians or the world does not have anything to offer.
To take human life is the hallmark of peaceful community & they have no shame nor morals in doing so. Our Supreme Court or the Politicians are busy in pleasing them.
