BJP high command has also given its nod to a massive outreach programme to be launched ahead of the Independence day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir
BJP is set to paint Kashmir valley in ‘Colors of India‘ on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations this year.
The party has already passed the necessary set of instructions to its state unit to organise flag hoisting events at the Panchayat level across the state to generate momentum in support of nationalist forces in the state.
According to official sources, “there are a total of 4490 Panchayat halqas in 316 blocks throughout the state”.
BJP high command has also given its nod to a massive outreach programme to be launched ahead of the Independence day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir to bolster party’s’ poll campaign ahead of the announcement of much-awaited Assembly polls.
With this unique initiative, the party is once again preparing the ground for taking on separatist forces and those opposed to the idea of hoisting National Flag, even at Lal Chowk, head-on.
There were indications that some top guns including political leaders were involved in Jammu and Kashmir Bank scams and they could face arrest during the course of investigations.
The success of the programme will not only help BJP improve its support base in Kashmir valley but will also help the party leaders strengthen its nationalist support base all across the country.
Though final decision to conduct the Assembly polls in the state is yet to be taken by the Election Commission of India but in all likelihood polls are expected to be held anytime between October-November 2019.
The ECI is expected to announce the poll schedule after the culmination of Amarnath yatra in the state.
It is learnt the recent deployment of additional paramilitary forces, which created flutter among the separatists and mainstream Kashmiri political parties, is being done to ensure incident-free conduct of flag hoisting ceremonies across the state.
Working President of the BJP, JP Nadda, on late Tuesday evening chaired a meeting of party’s core group on Jammu and Kashmir and discussed the preparedness of the state unit ahead of the polls.
“We have been asked to start preparations for the Assembly elections immediately and focus on all three regions of the State with a view to winning maximum numbers of seats in the Assembly,” a BJP leader said.
State BJP chief Ravinder Raina said, “Jammu region with 37 Assembly seats remained a major focus of the party, they have also been asked to concentrate on Kashmir and Ladakh regions to raise their tally”. He said BJP is fully geared up to form its own government in the state.
In the last Assembly, the BJP had won 25 Assembly seats, all from Jammu region.
There was, however, no talk of an alliance in the Assembly elections in the Core Group meeting, the party leaders said.
“Core group meeting of @BJP4JnK was held today evening chaired by National Working President @JPNadda. Elaborate discussions were held about the preparations for assembly elections,” tweeted party general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh, who was present in the meeting.
During the core group meeting the BJP high command dropped hints that there would be no let-up in the drive against corruption, scams and militancy in the State and that National Investigation Agency (NIA) and anti-graft bodies of the State would play a crucial role in the next few months.
There were indications that some top guns including political leaders were involved in Jammu and Kashmir Bank scams and they could face arrest during the course of investigations.
