Anti-PM Modi posters put up in Delhi, 6 arrested, more than 100 cases filed
The Delhi Police have taken swift action and arrested six individuals in connection with posting posters against Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the capital. Additionally, over 100 FIRs have been filed against those responsible.
According to the police, posters with the slogan ‘Modi hatao desh bachao’ were put up in some parts of Delhi. The police further said the posters did not have details of the printing press, adding FIRs have been filed under sections of the Printing Press Act and Defacement of Property Act.
As per sources, police had removed over 2,000 posters from several parts of the city.
A senior police official said that 100 FIRs were registered and six people have been arrested for objectionable posters.
The arrested people were also released on bail later.
The official said that a van was intercepted as soon as it left the Aam Aadmi Party office from which a few posters were seized and arrests were made.
