For the past 30 years this “illustrious” Congress leader hosts sumptuous lunches and this year it was on January 12. This feat is considered as Delhi’s biggest lunch for journalists – more than 500 – where cub reporters to editors assemble to enjoy Sajjan Kumar’s hospitality.

There is an Omerta code among journalists invited for the feat. There would be no photos and no reports.

The irony is that the same set of journalists objected to the entry of Narendra Modi in Delhi Press Club, citing Gujarat riots of 2002. And they have no qualms in enjoying the hospitality of Sajjan Kumar, the accused in 1984 Sikh Genocide for the past 30 years. The controversial Congress leader hosts feast for journalists during the days of Lohri festival.

There is an Omerta code among journalists invited for the feat. There would be no photos and no reports. That begs the question as to why Sajjan Kumar conducts such a feat for past 30 years if he doesn’t want any sort of publicity? The answer is simple: He wants the friendship of each and every journalist from cub reporter to editor to ensure that they look the other way when any news of his involvement in the 1984 Sikh Genocide crops up.

For the first time, this secret kind unholy relationship was exposed by internet fighter Gaurav Pradhan by uploading Sajjan Kumar’s invitation to journalists yesterday, a few hours before the lunch:
Dr. Gaurav Pradhan's tweet on Sajjan Kumar
In a series of tweets, Pradhan accused that journalists took gifts and favours from the Sikh Genocide accused Sajjan Kumar for the past 30 years.

Sajjan Kumar’s invitees from the journalist community are basically journalists covering Congress, Governments of Delhi and Centre, Police, CBI and Courts and all senior journalists from all media houses in Delhi. He also arranges transport facility to journalists from many points in the city (see the invitation card below):

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]he same journalists’ community consisting of Congress, Left – Liberal gang till date vehemently shot down Press Club of India’s move to invite Narendra Modi several times, accusing him as the main culprit in Gujarat Riots of 2002.

The same gang in 2009, in a gesture of obsequiousness, gave honorary membership of Press Club to Sonia Gandhi by going to her home and giving her a fancy card of Membership No: 0001. After few weeks, Sonia Gandhi returned the membership with a ‘No, Thanks’ note. For doing PR activity for Left parties, Kerala’s CPI(M) Government in 2010, gave Rs.25 lakhs ($37,000) to Press Club of India from the budgeted fund allotted for welfare of journalists in Kerala. This was done by the then State Finance Minister Thomas Issac. Why did the Kerala Government give money to Delhi’s Press Club? Was it to fund the PR activity of journalists sympathetic to their cause? The nation wants to know.
