Biden stumbles over Zelensky introduction, calls him ‘President Putin’
On Thursday, speaking at a press conference, Joe Biden boldly proclaimed his intention as US President and secure victory over Donald Trump, despite a series of verbal slip-ups at a monumental summit that has spotlighted his fitness.
President Joe Biden mistakenly referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin” while he was giving brief remarks ahead of a presser.
“Now I want to hand it over to the President of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination, ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” Biden said. He quickly corrected himself: “President Putin? He’s going to beat President Putin. President Zelensky. I’m so focused on beating Putin, we’ve gotta worry about it.”
Early in his solo news conference, President Joe Biden said “Vice President Trump” when discussing if his Vice President, Kamala Harris, could beat the former president.
Amid intense scrutiny and questions about his age, Biden asserts he is in good health and remains the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump, holding a defiant hour-long news conference.
After a stumbling debate performance last month raised concerns about his age, additional members of his own Democratic Party have urged him to step aside.
