Executive Editor Anuradha Bhasin named in FIR amid serious national security allegations
The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the Jammu & Kashmir Police conducted searches at the Jammu office of the Kashmir Times on Thursday over allegations of promoting anti-national activities, officials said.
According to police sources, investigators recovered AK-47 cartridges, pistol rounds, and three grenade levers during the raid, which began earlier in the day and was still underway at the time of reporting.
Authorities have also registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the Kashmir Times for allegedly spreading disaffection, glorifying separatism, and threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India and the Union Territory.
Executive Editor Anuradha Bhasin has been named in the FIR.
Officials said the probe aims to scrutinize the newspaper’s alleged links and activities that could “threaten the sovereignty of India.”
The Kashmir Times has not issued an official response so far.
Founded in 1954 by Ved Bhasin and later converted into a daily in 1964, the Kashmir Times is one of Jammu & Kashmir’s oldest and most widely known newspapers.
