DMK distances from Aam Aadm Party? Would not like to go against Congress stand on Delhi Ordinance?
The points-coordination-man for 26 regional parties is Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal. In six days, Kejriwal hopped six state capitals, travelling in a special flight of Punjab, with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Kejriwal discussed with Sharad Pawar, M K Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, Hemant Soren, and K Chandrasekhar Rao, about Semi-final for 2024 on stalling the Delhi Ordinance at the chambers of Rajya Sabha. When Parliament opens up for the Monsoon session in mid-July 2023, in the new building, the euphoria of semi-final syndrome would have evaporated, but still, AAP is keeping the defeat Delhi Ordinance banner high.
AK-49 and Bhagwant Mann think they are Double Engine
In a lighter vein, a few of the Congress leaders commented that Punjab and Delhi chief ministers are double engines and they travel in the same aircraft that is Punjab. But why did they leave the Delhi Mayor in the lurch? These leaders should take Delhi Mayor also in Bharat Jodo Darshan by aircraft to meet lots of regional parties leaders.
What is Kejri fighting for?
The Supreme Court had recently passed an order giving the Delhi government the power to make laws and post or transfer bureaucrats. In a unanimous ruling, a five-judge Constitution bench of the apex court on May 11 stated that the Delhi government had legislative and executive powers over administrative services in the national capital. Kejriwal is fighting for his government’s rights to fix officers.
The Sheesh Mahal Gate
Arvind Kejriwal was silenced by a private television exposure about his Rs.60 crores fancy house.
The basic issue in this fight against Ordinance is nothing but to whitewash the negative impression sent by the story of Sheesh Mahal. Also the arrest of a woman reporter in Punjab.
AK-49 disappointed
What did DMK leader M K Stalin convey to the AAP team in Chennai? The answer is simple. There is no commitment from DMK to AAP. The reason, Congress is yet to talk it out with UPA partners and also analyze why should DMK support AAP in Rajya Sabha. Will it not create a spectate in Tamil Nadu politics?
Kharge is not committing
Congress Party is yet to confirm its stand on Delhi Ordinance in Rajya Sabha. The party will do a double talk, according to top AAP leaders. Congress will oppose it in Rajya Sabha, but conveniently walk out or remain neutral. Such act of indecisiveness will ultimately help BJP. The ordinance will be passed. In other words, to stop the high-voltage revolt by Congress leaders Ajay Maken and Pratap Singh Bhajwa in New Delhi and in Punjab, Kharge Congress will have to walk on a high rope.
DMK indicated ‘ILLAI’ (ILLAI in Tamil is NO) to AAP
The background is that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met his Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin on Thursday, seeking support in his campaign against the Indian Central government’s controversial ordinance, which aims to assert control over administrative services in the nation’s capital
“If the elected government does not have control over the bureaucrats, then there is no point in having an elected government. For the first time in history, they nullified a Supreme Court order.
This is unconstitutional and undemocratic,” Mr. Kejriwal said after the meeting that was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, also from AAP.
“This ordinance will come in the monsoon session. In the Rajya Sabha, they have 93 seats, if all non-BJP parties come, then we will be able to defeat them. I am grateful for M K Stalin’s support. Every passing day, I’m feeling more and more confident and this is the semi-final to 2024,” he added.
The meeting was part of Mr. Kejriwal’s nationwide tour initiated last month, aimed at rallying opposition parties against the ordinance and bock it in the upper house of parliament, where they have more seats than the BJP and its allies.
Mr. Kejriwal, who leads the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday as part of this ongoing effort.
Meeting Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar and Hemant Soren
When Kejriwal met Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, and Hemant Soren, got massive support to vote against the Ordinance in Rajya Sabha. But Kejriwal has realized that without the strong support of Congress, these regional outfits born out of Congress will toe the line of Kharge and ditch AAP claim. With this Arvind Kejriwal’s utterances about the 2024 semi-final will have a setback. Still, Congress’s true colour would have got exposed feel AAP leaders.
