[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]I[/dropcap]n an announcement which could have far reaching impact, Pinarayi Vijayan, the CPI(M) Chief Minister of Kerala, declared in the Legislative Assembly on Monday that the State was no more a safe place. “There are many organisations in Kerala which impart training to murder political activists and leaders.” said Pinarayi Vijayan while replying to a question in the Legislative Assembly, which began a three week session on Monday.

He was replying to a question by P K Kunhalikutty of the Muslim League. Though the chief minister did not name any organisations, he was indirectly substantiating intelligence reports about various Islamic extremist organisations imparting arms and explosives training to their activists. The CPI(M) too has many arms training camps in party villages in the districts of Kannur, Kasaragod and Kozhikode. The State has seen many incidents of crude bombs getting exploded while they are being assembled by untrained hands. Many CPI(M) leaders have been seriously injured and maimed due to such explosions.

Various Congress leaders including former chief minister Oommen Chandy were on record lambasting the CPI(M) for political murders happening in Kerala.

The statement by Pinarayi Vijayan surprised even his political rivals. The reply comes at a time when The CPI(M) is being criticised for political violence unleashed by its cadres against rivals. Many RSS and BJP workers have been murdered by the CPI(M) cadre since Pinarayi Vijayan led government assumed office in Kerala in May 2016. The CPI(M)-led Kerala Government is also trying to woo investors to Kerala to shore up the economy of the State which is getting weaker by the day. Frequent bandhs and hartals have shook investors’ confidence and most of them are moving out to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, relatively peaceful States.

The CPI(M) is in the forefront of the class annihilation of BJP and RSS workers. Later, the House had to be adjourned briefly when an agitated Opposition took strong objection to certain comments made by Health Minister Shylaja. She said children of many Opposition leaders had managed to get admission for MBBS in self-financing colleges through their political connections.

Kerala is a safe haven for extremist Islamist organisations and its leaders.

  1. Kerala is a state with high literacy rate. They know what is good and what is bad. Till today they had no alternative to CPM. Now they are seeing BJP rising in the horizon. Kerala can dream of good days in the near future.
