Heavy rainfall has resulted in severe waterlogging across Pune and Kolhapur, severely disrupting normal life in Maharashtra.

The situation has prompted authorities to shut down schools, and numerous residential areas in Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad have been inundated by flooding. Tragically, three individuals have been electrocuted due to the hazardous conditions caused by waterlogging.

Emergency services, including the fire department, are actively engaged in rescuing residents stranded in flooded neighborhoods like Ekta Nagar. Reports indicate that water levels in some areas have risen to waist height.

The Baba Bhide bridge spanning the Mutha River in Pune is now submerged as water levels continue to rise following the relentless downpour.

The local administration and disaster response teams are working tirelessly to mitigate the impact of the flooding and provide assistance to affected residents.
