A shocking case of alleged murder has emerged from Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, where a man was allegedly set on fire by his brother-in-law after visiting his estranged wife to persuade her to return home. A woman who rushed to rescue him also suffered severe burns and later succumbed to her injuries.

According to police, the incident took place on June 13 when Lovepreet Singh visited his in-laws’ residence to convince his wife, Sandeep Kaur, to return home after she had reportedly gone to stay with her family following a domestic dispute.

During the visit, his brother-in-law, Sajan Singh, allegedly poured an inflammable substance on Lovepreet and set him on fire.
