The son of an injured Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) recalled the condition in which his father returned after the violence
Family members of Delhi Police personnel injured during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest at Jantar Mantar have come forward with emotional accounts of the violence, alleging that officers were brutally attacked while performing their duty and demanding strict action against those responsible.
At a press conference on Friday, relatives of the injured officers described scenes of chaos, claiming protesters hurled stones, shoes and slippers at police personnel, leaving several of them seriously injured.
‘His uniform was soaked in blood’
The son of an injured Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) recalled the moment his father returned home after the violence.
“My father’s uniform was soaked in blood,” he said, urging authorities to ensure justice for police personnel who were injured while maintaining law and order.
The family maintained that the officers were only carrying out their official responsibilities when they were allegedly attacked by violent elements in the crowd.
‘My father was almost lynched’
The daughter of an injured Delhi Police Sub-Inspector shared a deeply personal account of the incident, saying her father had previously served as a Marine Commando in the Indian Navy for 15 years before joining the police force.
According to her, the officer had been deployed near the barricades at the main protest site and had repeatedly told his family that the agitation had gone beyond a student protest, with anti-social elements becoming increasingly active.
She alleged that on July 25, her father was dragged by a mob near the protest stage and was nearly lynched.
The officer reportedly remained unconscious for nearly four hours at RML Hospital before colleagues brought him home later that night.
“When he returned, his uniform was completely stained with blood. It was heartbreaking for us to see him in that condition,” she said.

‘We also deserve justice’
The officer’s daughter said she was distressed to see social media posts portraying her father as a criminal despite his injuries.
She also expressed anguish over reports that individuals accused of attacking police personnel had approached the Supreme Court with complaints against the officers involved in crowd control.
Determined to seek justice, she said the families of several injured police personnel came together and approached legal counsel to present their concerns before the Supreme Court.
“Our advocate assured us that we too have equal rights as citizens of this country and that justice will be available to us as well,” she said.
The families have urged authorities to identify those responsible for the violence and ensure accountability for attacks on law enforcement personnel deployed during the protest.
