Mohandas’ arrest sparks political and legal debate
The Kerala government in general and its Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala suffered a setback on Monday as a Thiruvananthapuram court granted bail to the state’s leading political commentator T G Mohandas, who was picked up from his Kochi residence on Sunday night.[1]
Mohandas was given bail and set free by the additional chief judicial magistrate of the capital city, who asked the former to make himself available for questioning by the investigation officer probing the case filed against him by a political greenhorn. The complaint against Mohan Das was that he belittled the sit-in at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and the demonstration held at Parliament on 20th July by the Cockroach Janata Party demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as minister of education.
In his social media speech, Mohandas said the Union government was too soft in handling the agitation staged by the CJP activists. “The activists should have been asked to clear out of Jantar Mantar, and the government could have given them four hours to vacate the venue. If they do not listen to the orders issued by the Police, the mob could have been dispersed by bursting tear gas shells or lathi charge. Had I been in power, I definitely would have asked the police to fire in the air, and if the agitators still refuse to disperse, they should be shot at,” Mohandas had said in the speech.
He also said that there was something unusual in the behavior of girl students who had joined their male counterparts in the agitation. “It is natural for them, as many among the Left Wing students enjoy the intimacy shown by the male. Many of them even enjoy being raped by their counterparts,” said Mohandas. It is quite common to see the male members of the SFI and DYFI (the student and youth organizations affiliated to the CPI-M) caressing and squeezing the girl associates who join them in agitations.
The charges made against Mohandas were that he tried to disturb communal harmony, provoked the people to create anarchy and chaos, and insulted the females in the state. The magistrate, who was not impressed by the explanations given by the prosecution in arresting the 71-year-old Mohandas, pointed out that the latter had not absconded and was always available for questioning. The arrest of Mohan Das was in violation of the guidelines set by the Supreme Court while arresting senior citizens. “There is no identifiable victim in this case. There is also no cognizable offence committed by Mohandas,” said a lawyer based in Kochi.
The media in Kerala has been celebrating the arrest of Mohandas because of their animosity towards him. “It is because he is obsessed with nationalism and patriotism that they oppose Mohan Das,” said Sunil Wadayar, chief editor, India Live. The weekly programs “Bakki Pathram” and “Polichezhuthu” anchored by Mohandas were the most popular current affairs shows on Malayalam TV channels, and that earned him the wrath of several TV journalists whose ignorance was exposed through these shows. He was a popular debater in news channels, and most of the anchorpersons developed a kind of antipathy towards him because of their inferiority complex.
Since the court has asked him to stay away from further controversies, Mohandas declined to speak to the media.

I stand in support of Mohandas for he speak truth & truth only. That truth will shield against the corrupt police, politicians & corrupt judiciary. He is man of truth. Politicians escape through darkness for the fear the truthness in his words.
It is beyond doubt the youth have been lured into protests by these young girls (misled ideologies) who are paid for every act of physical intimacy & promise of being mistress or wife of future leader who will rule the world.
