Rajeev Chandrashekhar vs Elon Musk on EVMs
Former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Sunday that Elon Musk’s take on eliminating electronic voting machines (EVMs) from voting is a “huge sweeping generalization” that holds no truth, inviting the Tesla CEO to come and learn some lessons in India.
Chandrasekhar refuted the tech billionaire’s claim in a response to his post on X that electronic voting machines should be removed because the “risk of being hacked by humans or AI, while small, is still too high.”
“This is a huge sweeping generalization statement that implies no one can build secure digital hardware. Wrong,” replied the former minister.
According to Chandrasekhar, Musk’s view may apply to the US and other places where they use regular computing platforms to build “Internet-connected Voting machines.”
Chandrasekhar further rejected Musk’s statement, saying that Indian EVMs are custom-designed, secure, and isolated from any network or media.
“No connectivity, no Bluetooth, wifi, Internet; there is no way in. Factory-programmed controllers that cannot be reprogrammed”, informed the former minister.
“Electronic voting machines can be architected and built right as India has done. We would be happy to run a tutorial, Elon,” Chandrasekhar added.
Musk had reacted to Puerto Rico’s primary elections which allegedly experienced voting irregularities.

ONE GORA TALKS AND ANOTHER HALF GORA REPEATS. If Musk is willing to pay 50 billions, India could conduct the American elections like never before and give the result in less that 24 hours. Musk put all his might and try hack the EVMs and India will pay him 100 Billions. Is because of the boot Musk got for his Tesla project with all the tax and other concessions ?

I agree with Rajeev Chandrashekhar. Can Mr. Elon Musk pls elaborate how he can tweek the EVMs ? During the 2024 general elections there were apprix 10.50 lscs polling booths, wherein 55 lac EVMs were used to record the votes. How msny people would be reqd to hack these EVMs and how many man hours would be reqd to do this exercise. Granted that
