Rohini District Special Staff traces supply chain from Delhi seizures to a manufacturing facility in Lucknow

Delhi Police’s Rohini District Special Staff has dismantled an interstate heroin supply-and-manufacturing network operating between Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh, arresting four people and recovering 7.076 kg of heroin valued at around Rs 50 crore in the international market, officials said Monday.

    How the network was uncovered

The operation began with a seizure of 300 grams of heroin and Rs 3 lakh in cash from a vehicle, which led investigators to another consignment of 501 grams recovered from an SUV. Following these early leads, police traced the supply chain back to an illegal heroin manufacturing facility operating in Lucknow, where they recovered 6.275 kg of freshly manufactured heroin and arrested a man identified as Bablu from the premises.

    Raw materials and equipment seized

Alongside the finished heroin, police recovered 3.291 kg of precursor material from the facility — comprising 2.504 kg of sodium and 787 grams of acetic anhydride — as well as manufacturing equipment including a tub, gas cylinder, cloth, containers, polythene bags and a grinder. Two SUVs and Rs 3 lakh in cash were also seized during the operation. The alleged principal supplier, described as the owner of the Lucknow manufacturing unit, was arrested in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

    Investigation ongoing

Police said the recoveries at different stages of the alleged supply chain, combined with the material seized from the manufacturing facility and the arrest of the alleged main supplier, have helped investigators piece together the structure of the network. Further investigation is underway to identify the complete supply chain, trace financial links, establish how precursor and manufacturing materials were procured, and identify any other individuals associated with the operation.
