Sadhguru calls for swift action to ensure the safety of Bangladeshi Hindus

Spiritual leader and founder of the Isha Foundation, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has called for urgent measures to safeguard Hindus facing violence in Bangladesh.

Speaking on Wednesday, Sadhguru highlighted the atrocities reported against Hindus in the violence-stricken region and stressed the responsibility of protecting these communities.

Sharing a news report from the Daily Star, Sadhguru emphasized that these individuals are an integral part of the broader civilization and must be defended against such shocking acts of violence.

In a post on social media platform X, Sadhguru posted, “The atrocities being perpetrated against Hindus is not just an internal matter of #Bangladesh. Bharat cannot be Maha-Bharat if we do not stand up and act at the earliest to ensure the safety of minorities in our neighbourhood. What was part of this Nation unfortunately became neighborhood, but it is our responsibility to protect these people -who actually belong to this Civilisation- from these shocking atrocities.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev strongly condemned the recent attacks targeting Hindu temples and business establishments in Bangladesh. Ramdev, known for his prominent role in promoting yoga and wellness, expressed grave concern over the violence directed at Hindu communities in the neighboring country and urged the Indian government to take decisive steps to protect these minorities.

Meanwhile, Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari, the General Secretary of ISKCON Bangladesh, echoed these concerns. In a recent appeal, Brahmachari reported that Hindus in Bangladesh are living in fear due to a series of targeted attacks. He pointed out a troubling pattern where minorities become targets of violence whenever there is a political upheaval or government change. Brahmachari’s plea underlined the recurring and systematic nature of these attacks, stressing the vulnerability of Hindu communities in the face of political instability.

The appeals from both Ramdev and Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari reflect a growing international concern over the safety and rights of religious minorities in Bangladesh.

As the situation continues to evolve, there is increasing pressure on the Indian government and international bodies to address these issues and provide the necessary support to ensure the protection of vulnerable communities.

Amid the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, the bodies of 29 people, including 20 Awami League leaders, were found across the country, local media reported on Wednesday. Across the country, Awami League leaders and minorities have become the main targets of the ongoing violence.

Several videos have surfaced in which Hindu temples were getting attacked and set on fire.
