‘Boycott Pathaan’ trends after the release of the first song from the movie ‘Pathaan’
Soon after the release of the first song from Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan, #BoycottPathaan started trending on Twitter.
Social media users have expressed their discomfort over the ‘not so decent visuals, while some have raised the issue of Deepika wearing a saffron bikini in the song titled – ‘Besharam Rang’.
Twitter handle @StarBoy2079 tweeted, “In psychology, it’s called Implicit Cognition U r not consciously aware but some thoughts incepted into ur mind subconsciously In this song
Boy: Mslm, Matcho, Hot, Green color
Girl: Hindu, half naked, ready to surrender, Saffron color
Song: Besharam rang
End result: LJ”.
After the trend started, an old video of Shah Rukh Khan’s interview where he is allegedly talking about “growing intolerance,” is resurfacing again on social media. Netizens have also been circulating photos of Deepika Padukone visiting JNU to stand with the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang
Here are a few tweets from Twitter users who are trending Boycott Pathaan.
“In Beshram Rang song, Deepika Padukone is shown wearing saffron clothes & doing cheap vulgar acts. Bollywood is deliberately making fun of the divine color of Hinduism. while Pathaan SRK is wearing green clothes. This is also the hidden agenda of #LoveJihad.”
One handle tweeted: I’ve been a banker for 40 years. And you can trust me on Bankruptcy! When there is the bankruptcy of ideas, talent, and morality, the only option that remains is to auction your assets to the public!
पठान फ़िल्म में हक्ले ने हीरोइन को भगवा रंग की पोशाक पहनाई और गाने का नाम बेशरम रंग रख दिया (In the film Pathan, stammerer dressed the heroine in a saffron outfit and named the song Besharam Rang.)
The difference between a South Indian film that pays tribute to our Bharatiya culture & traditions & a Bollywoodiya dirt that latches on to obscenity for gaining some success. No wonder the former is a blockbuster & no one watches the latter. #BollywoodKiGandagi #BoycottPathaan
Three years back, I would have been dying to see this movie but Sushant’s death has changed me forever. Anti-Hindu statements and drug stories have made my resolve stronger. #BoycottPathan #BoycottbollywoodCompletely
There is a lot of criticism against Bollywood movies nowadays for multiple reasons. Recently, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, and Ranbir Kapoor’s Bramhastra were trending with the boycott hashtag after which the films flopped.
