[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]he Supreme Court on Monday asked the government to verify BJP leader Dr. Subramanian Swamy’s information that a Cabinet decision has been taken to “not touch” the ancient Ram Sethu, also known as the Adam’s Bridge, when implementing the Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project.
It is hoped that with the government confirming this, the efforts of Dr Swamy to ensure that this religious monument will survive will bear fruit and that it will be declared a National Monument.
It should be remembered that the UPA government had asked for its demolition under Sethusamudaram Project, but with the timely intervention of Dr Swamy, it’s demolition was stayed.
