UP ATS arrests JeM terrorist Habibul Islam AKA Saifullah from Fatehpur district
The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) has arrested one terrorist for his alleged links with Jaish-e-Mohammed. The JeM terrorist is identified as Habibul Islam alias Saifullah who is 19-year-old. Saifullah is now being interrogated by various agencies.
The ATS had received a tip-off provided by Muhammad Nadeem, who was arrested by the ATS from Saharanpur on Friday.
According to an official release, Saifullah, also known as Habibul Islam. He is an expert in making virtual IDs, and he had made over 50 virtual IDs for terrorists in Pakistan and Afghanistan on WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook. He used to send audio messages related to Jihad from these platforms.
UP additional director general (law and order) Prashant Kumar said the ATS team picked up Saifullah from his house in Sayyedbada locality of Fatehpur district based on intel extracted from Nadeem. He was later brought to Kanpur for further interrogation. The terror suspect hails from Motihari in Bihar.
Kumar said Saifullah was arrested after his association with the JeM was confirmed and direct links were drawn with terrorists based in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The ADG said the suspect was in continuous touch with Nadeem and helped him in accomplishing his target.
Earlier, the UP ATS had arrested Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Tehrikh-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)-linked terrorist Muhammad Nadeem from Saharanpur. According to the agency, Nadeem was in direct contact with Pakistan-based terrorist outfits JeM and TTP. He was given the task by JeM to kill Nupur Sharma, the UP ATS said.
