Pentagon’s UFO release sparks new questions about extraterrestrial life
President Donald Trump‘s administration took an extraordinary decision and officially released the first batch of over 160 declassified Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) files and videos on May 8, 2026. This historic and unprecedented release was part of the PURSUE (Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters) initiative, fulfilling a presidential directive aimed at bringing a unique transparency regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). The tranche of never-before-seen documents released by the Pentagon on UFOs includes descriptions of reported sightings by civilians on Earth and by astronauts on the Moon. The documents, spanning decades, were declassified and posted online at the direction of US President Donald Trump, who said earlier this year that he would release them “based on the tremendous interest shown“.
The US has seen widespread public interest in extra-terrestrial life in recent years. In 2022, Congress held the first hearings on UFOs in 50 years, and the military had promised more transparency on the matter. The latest interagency effort includes the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Department of Energy (DOE), the DOD’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and additional components of US intelligence agencies. The release, posted on a new Pentagon “UFO” website, includes 162 files from the FBI, Department of Defense, NASA, and State Department. The documents contain eyewitness testimony, photos, and reports of sightings of unexplained objects, detailing incidents dating back decades from around the globe.
The bulk of the documents feature modern incident reports from members of the military detailing their encounters with strange objects or unexplained phenomena in Iraq, Syria, the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Aden, Greece, and elsewhere.
Other documents detail historical encounters, including the famous crash in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. One section of the FBI case file includes a memo written by an agent in the bureau’s Dallas field office to FBI headquarters. The agent reports that a major in the Air Force called to tell the office “that an object purporting to be a flying disc was recovered near Roswell, New Mexico.”
“The disc is hexagonal in shape and was suspended from a ball[o]on by cable, which ball[o]on was approximately twenty feet in diameter,” the memo said.
However, none of the videos and documents released give a glimpse of what an alien being looks like. What is there in the public domain are reports of strange aerial vehicles, characterized by high-speed and zig-zag movements, that defy conventional scientific knowledge. The public was aware of bright flying discs with geometrical shapes ranging from circular to triangular, spotted occasionally for a few seconds in the skies. But there are no official documents released to date hinting at what an alien looks like, or if they are protected by some kind of spacesuits, or what their physical features would look like. As a result, the public continues to rely on depictions of aliens by Hollywood artists for many movies that have been produced on the subject of extra-terrestrials.
In the Firstpost article dated May 18 2026, it is claimed that the US government had recovered four species of aliens from UFOs that have crashed on Earth, a former CIA researcher has claimed[1]. “People who have been involved in recoveries have said there are at least four types. Now I have not had direct access to that, but I believe the people whom I talked to — four separate types of life,” CIA researcher Hal Puthoff claimed on ‘The Diary of a CEO’ podcast. While Puthoff did not go into specifics, his long-time collaborator Eric Davis said last year that the four species are Grays, Nordics, Insectoids, and Reptilians. In the same podcast, filmmaker Dan Farah said that “there have been dozens of recoveries of crashed craft in the US alone, dozens of craft of non-human origin that either crashed organically or caused a crash and then recovered”.
The New York Post reported subject experts as saying that Grays are believed to be small, large-eyed, hairless creatures, comparable to depictions in films such as ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ while Reptilians are believed to be scaly, lizard-like creatures with human limbs and long tails that walk upright.
This brings us to a more important question as to why USA-based Ufologists (they monopolize this field of study) are reluctant to accept that aliens or extra-terrestrials can be far superior in physical appearance and mental prowess to human beings? Typically, the descriptions of extra-terrestrials are all about Grays, Nordics, Insectoids, and Reptilians. Every Ufologist worth the name cannot transcend the West Asian religious narrative about human beings being the epitome of creation. The Bible claims that humanity is the pinnacle of creation. According to Genesis 1:26-27, humans are made in God’s “image and likeness.” There is a mental bloc in the minds of USA-based Ufologists for accepting that there could be superior beings in the Universe. Some worry that confirming intelligent alien life could disrupt traditional biblical narratives. Certain conservative Christian circles express fear that alien contact could be a form of spiritual deception aimed at weakening faith in the West Asian origin of Jesus Christ. Because of this mindset, they have unwittingly put a cap on God’s creativity itself! God is no longer in a position to improvise on his creations nor add to his creativity! The Abrahamic faiths fear that the discovery of intelligent extra-terrestrials would be the instant death knell for their beliefs, which originated among nomadic desert tribes. These beliefs have been exported to Western countries, and from there to different parts of the world, by force and destruction. Enormous belief empires have been built around the world, based on the desert protagonists.
Everything would crumble, instantly, once an extra-terrestrial contact gets established. This fear is the key behind portraying extra-terrestrials as Grays, Nordics, Insectoids, and Reptilians as grotesque creatures.
The concept of an extra-terrestrial civilization or alien beings traveling from “light-years away” involves extreme cosmic distances. Researchers suggest that the closest technological alien civilizations could be up to 33,000 light-years distant. Bridging such vast distances requires advanced technology, knowledge, and capability, apart from physical endurance, to bear the rigours of varying hostile galactic atmospheres, cosmic radiation, and the time factor. Therefore, any extra-terrestrial has to be superior to human beings in physique and intelligence.
Despite the overbearing religious pressure to resist accepting the concept of extra-terrestrials, scientists and astronomers are diligently scanning the distant edges of the universe to trace the existence of life. The fact that extra-terrestrials have located us, and are exploring the planet and its flora and fauna, is also a possibility that cannot be ignored. In this context, Mr. Trump showed extraordinary guts to defy religious obduracy and fundamentalism and make available classified material, on UFOs and extra-terrestrials, that comes from the Pentagon, NASA, and the FBI, and includes videos, images, investigative case files, transcripts, and military mission reports, to the public.
A retired US Navy Rear Admiral, Tim Gallaudet, has claimed that Earth’s oceans may be inhabited by aliens possessing technology far more advanced than anything humans currently have. In an interview with Popular Mechanics, Gallaudet discussed a 2015 incident involving a Navy F/A-18 aircraft off the eastern coast of the United States, which later became widely known as the “Go Fast” sighting after the footage was released to the public. What particularly caught Gallaudet’s attention was the extraordinary movement of the object. He argued that its speed and manoeuvrability appeared to exceed the limits of known human engineering. According to him, current technology cannot produce vehicles capable of travelling seamlessly between water and air at such extreme speeds while also making sudden directional shifts and sharp-angle turns. The retired Admiral suggested these capabilities point to technology far beyond what humanity currently possesses. Gallaudet has repeatedly argued that the US government is withholding critical information about sightings such as “Go Fast” and “Tic Tac.” He emphasized that uncertainty surrounding the intentions and origins of these craft represents a potential national security concern.
In Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism, the holy Vedic Scriptures, especially the four Vedas, Puranas, and Itihasas, clearly mention the existence of extra-terrestrial species (alien beings) and their interactions with humans since the Vedic era. Rather than viewing Earth as the sole place for life, Hindu cosmology describes a universe teeming with billions of galaxies and multi-dimensional realms. The West calls beings from other worlds “Aliens.” But Sanatana Dharma calls them “Bandhava” (Relatives).
Why? Because the Universe is an Open Architecture system.
The universe is divided into 14 Lokas (planes of existence). Higher Realms (Urdhva Lokas): Beings with highly evolved spiritual bodies, intellect, and power inhabit realms like Swarga (the heavenly planets). Beings here are referred to as Devas (demigods), Yakshas, and Gandharvas.
Lower Realms (Patal Lokas): Subterranean worlds inhabited by beings who possess advanced technological or material power are called Asuras (often translated as demons or titans). Texts like the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and the Ahirbudhnya Samhita are filled with accounts of Vimanas or flying machines. These are described as advanced flying chariots or spacecraft capable of interplanetary and interdimensional travel. The texts frequently detail battles, interactions, and alliances between humans on Earth and celestial beings from other realms.
The Valmiki Ramayana, Sundara Kanda
Section, Chapter 8, Verse 6, vividly mentions
An alien race called ‘Bhutaganas’ who:
“Vahanti yam kuṇḍala-śobhitānanā
Vivṛtta-vidhvasta-viśāla-locanā.”
Controlled Ravana’s flying machine.
They “roamed the sky with extremely high speed,
controlled by thousands of evil creatures
with big round eyes, with helmets on their heads!”
The discovery of extra-terrestrials should not come as a surprise to followers of Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism. It will only be a confirmation of the scriptural revelations. Anyway, interesting days are ahead for humanity. Even a chance discovery or contact with an extra-terrestrial will have a profound impact on religion, philosophy, and technology.
