
Drone strike in UAE leaves Indians injured, India urges de-escalation
India has strongly condemned a suspected drone strike in Fujairah that left three Indian nationals injured, calling the incident “unacceptable” and expressing deep concern over the safety of civilians.
In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs urged all parties involved to immediately halt hostilities, particularly actions targeting civilian infrastructure.
“The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable. We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities… India continues to stand for dialogue and diplomacy so that peace and stability may be restored across West Asia,” the statement said.
India also reiterated its call for maintaining free and unimpeded navigation through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.
Embassy monitoring situation
The Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi confirmed the injuries in a post on X, stating that it is in constant touch with local authorities to ensure proper medical care and welfare for the affected individuals.
“Three Indian nationals have been injured in today’s attacks in Fujairah. We are in touch with local authorities for ensuring adequate medical care,” the embassy said.

Fire at oil facility
The incident occurred at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (FOIZ), where a fire broke out following what officials believe was a drone strike.
According to reports by WAM, emergency teams from the Fujairah Civil Defence were immediately deployed to contain the blaze.
Initial assessments suggest the drone may have originated from Iran, although no official confirmation has been issued.
Injuries and treatment
Media reports indicate that the three injured Indian nationals sustained moderate injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Rising regional tensions
The incident comes amid heightened tensions in West Asia, with increasing concerns over attacks on critical infrastructure and maritime routes.
India reiterated its commitment to diplomacy, emphasizing that dialogue remains the only sustainable path to restoring peace and stability in the region.
