Abhijeet Dipke was repeatedly slapped during a protest in Jaipur over alleged education system failures
A protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in Jaipur on Monday descended into chaos after founder Abhijeet Dipke was allegedly assaulted by two men while participating in the demonstration.
The incident took place at Shaheed Smarak, where the organisation had gathered to protest alleged education-related issues, including examination paper leaks and unemployment. Videos circulating on social media show Dipke being carried on the shoulders of supporters when a man grabs him by a cloth around his neck. Moments later, he and another individual are seen repeatedly slapping and hitting the CJP founder.
The alleged attackers were subsequently overpowered and beaten by some of Dipke’s supporters before being separated.
The protest was part of a nationwide campaign announced by the Cockroach Janta Party following a demonstration in Delhi on June 6. The group had said it would organise protests across the country unless Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned over alleged irregularities in examinations, including NEET and other paper leak controversies.

Reacting to the assault, Dipke said the incident would not deter the organisation from continuing its movement.
“Physical attacks are a sign of fear and cowardice. We will continue to raise our voices peacefully. I am a follower of Gandhi and Ambedkar, and I will keep fighting this battle with peace and love,” he wrote on X, while reiterating his demand for the minister’s resignation.
Police said six people have been detained and are being questioned in connection with the incident.
Officials said the identities of those involved and the motive behind the attack are still being verified. An investigation has been launched, and authorities are examining the entire sequence of events captured on video.
According to police, the organisers had initially not received permission for the protest. However, conditional approval was granted later, with restrictions including a cap of 800 participants.
