Police claim Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary secretly married, studied Sonam Raghuvanshi case to plan Ketan Agarwal murder
Fresh revelations have emerged in the sensational Ketan Agarwal murder case, with Pune Rural Police claiming that prime accused Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary were secretly married and had researched the Sonam Raghuvanshi murder case while allegedly plotting the killing of Siya’s fiancé.
The disclosures were made during court proceedings as police opposed the bail applications filed by both accused. Investigators told the court that the duo had allegedly entered into a secret marriage despite Siya being engaged to realtor Ketan Agarwal, and later conspired to eliminate him.
Police allege secret marriage
According to the prosecution, the investigation has revealed that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had solemnised a secret marriage before the alleged murder. Police argued that the relationship between the two was central to the conspiracy and provided the motive behind the killing.
Investigators further claimed that the accused deliberately concealed their relationship while continuing preparations for Siya’s wedding with Ketan Agarwal.
Sonam Raghuvanshi case allegedly researched
Police also informed the court that forensic analysis of the accused’s electronic devices revealed internet searches and research related to the high-profile Sonam Raghuvanshi murder case.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly studied details of that case while planning Ketan Agarwal’s murder, believing they could execute the crime in a manner that would initially appear accidental.
Police are examining the relevance of the digital evidence as part of the broader conspiracy investigation.
Investigation points to premeditated plot
Investigators have maintained that the murder was carefully planned over several weeks. Earlier, police alleged that Siya and Chetan had rehearsed pushing Ketan from a cliff before the incident at Lohagad Fort.
The probe has also uncovered deleted chats, coded conversations, alleged use of sign language, and nicknames used by the accused to communicate while attempting to avoid detection, according to police.
Authorities have recovered multiple electronic devices and other material evidence, which are currently being analysed.
Court hearing and investigation
During the hearing, police opposed bail for both accused, arguing that the investigation remains at a crucial stage and additional evidence is yet to be examined.
The defence, however, challenged the prosecution’s claims and questioned the evidence presented before the court.
Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary remain in judicial custody as the investigation into the alleged murder conspiracy continues. Police have indicated that further forensic analysis and witness examination are underway to establish the complete sequence of events surrounding Ketan Agarwal’s death.
