Indian Oil aims to boost India’s EV infrastructure
The Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), S M Vaidya said that 2000 EV charging stations will be established in the next 12 months and another 8000 in the next two years to achieve the target of 10,000 EV charging stations in the next three years.
State-owned oil marketing company IOC aims to set up 10,000 charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in the country over the next two years.
Apparently, Tata Group is also gearing up for electric mobility. It has now expanded its network to 1,000 EV charging stations across India. These charging stations are present across 180 cities in India and along popular state and national highways.
Tata Power has collaborated with Indian Oil, Mahanagar Gas, MG Motor India, and Jaguar Land Rover, and also various state transport utilities for developing the charging infrastructure.
The recent announcement by the Centre on developing a low-cost AC charge point standard for public EV charging will prove a game-changer for electric vehicles.
