Sadhguru: Let kids experience the joy of firecrackers
Spiritual leader and the founder of Isha Foundation, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, stated today that worries over air pollution should not be used to discourage children from enjoying the joy of firecrackers.
Sadhguru tweeted, “Concern about air pollution is not a reason to prevent kids from experiencing the joy of firecrackers. As your sacrifice for them, walk to your office for 3 days. Let them have the fun of bursting crackers.”

For those who are “suddenly” environmentally active, Sadhguru offered an alternate solution to stop using vehicles for three days and walk to your office instead, as a sacrifice for the children.
Sadhguru also uploaded a video on Twitter along with his tweet in which he urges people to let the kids have the experience of enjoying the firecrackers.
His video and tweet come at a time when the country is split over the use of fireworks.
Earlier this week, the Supreme Court overturned a broad ban on firecrackers issued by West Bengal’s Calcutta High Court. The court determined that certified green crackers can be marketed and burst in regions with “excellent” or “moderate” air quality. A Supreme Court vacation bench issued the order.
The panel considered two petitions that contested the Calcutta High Court’s broad prohibition on firecrackers, including green crackers. Firecracker sellers filed the applications.
