The clash between two communities in Gujarat’s Vadodara over the bursting of firecrackers on Diwali

Amid the Diwali celebrations, communal tensions erupted in the Vadodara Panigate area. As per the report, a mob also damaged a few shops there and set some on fire. The incident took place near the Muslim Hospital in the area.

According to officials, street lights were turned off prior to the altercation, which is when rioters from the two sides began throwing stones. The police had apprehended at least a dozen rioters, and the identification procedure is still ongoing.

DCP Yashpal Jaganiya said, “An incident of stone pelting occurred near the Muslim Medical center in Panigate last night. Police immediately reached the spot & took action; the situation is completely under control. CCTVs being checked & eyewitnesses’ inquiry is underway. The probe is on.”
