[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]W[/dropcap]ith Saturday’s (September 3, 2016) gruesome murder of Vineesh of Thillankeri the number of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders who were killed by the Communist Party of India Marxist CPI(M) workers in Kannur district alone since Pinarayi Vijayan was sworn in as Chief Minister (CM) of Kerala in May rose to three. The district has seen the murder of an RSS leader every month since the CPI(M) took office in Kerala in the month of May 2016.

In addition to the murder of the three RSS leaders during the last three months, the CPI(M) activists and workers with the active connivance of their leaders have unleashed a reign of terror in Kannur since the day Pinarayi Vijayan became the CM of Kerala. More than fifty serious incidents of violence have taken place in Kannur district alone. But the police, a handmaiden of the CPI(M), has refused to register a single case in spite of the fact that all the attacks were serious in nature.

The CPI(M) in Kerala is upset over the erosion in its support base as many party activists have crossed over to RSS and other Sangh Parivar units because of the party leadership’s minority appeasement policies.

Pinarayi, the village of Chief Minister Vijayan saw hundreds of houses belonging to the Sangh Parivar members being attacked by the CPI (M) workers. The cadre of the CPI(M) are driving away the Sangh Parivar activists from all villages in Kannur district. “The CPI(M) activists are on a mission to annihilate the RSS and other Sangh Parivar activists all over Kerala,” said a senior intelligence official monitoring the CPI(M) activities.

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]uesday (September 6, 2016) saw the office bearers of the Kannur district RSS filing a complaint with the cyber cell of the Kerala Police against the CPI(M) activists for opening fake pages in social media under the name of various Sangh Parivar units and launching WhatsApp chat groups with the intention of subverting the functioning of RSS and other Sangh Parivar affiliates. These fake social media pages and WhatsApp groups are used to post counterfeit messages with the intention of creating misunderstanding among Sangh Parivar affiliates and also to spread rumours and gossip about RSS and Sangh Parivar functionaries.

Kannur district in Kerala is what the 24 Parganas district in Bengal is for the CPI(M).

The CPI(M) in Kerala is upset over the erosion in its support base as many party activists have crossed over to RSS and other Sangh Parivar units because of the party leadership’s minority appeasement policies. It has to do with the alarming decrease in Kerala’s Hindu population and simultaneous increase in the population of Muslims and Christians. The Hindus which constituted 69 per cent of Kerala’s population in 1901 has come down to 54.73 per cent according to the 2011 census. The Muslim population has increased to 26.56 per cent (a growth rate of 12.84 per cent) according to the 2011 census. The Christians in Kerala constitute 18.38 per cent.

The CPI(M) has been panicked by the variations in the religious demography of Kerala. They feel that only through a consolidation of the minority votes the party could stay relevant in Kerala politics and for that the party leadership has decided to oppose the RSS and the Sangh Parivar outfits tooth and nail. The party leadership is under the impression that if it unleashes a reign of terror and violence over the Hindutva forces, the Muslims and Christians in the State would stand by the party.

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]W[/dropcap]hatever is proposed by the RSS and Sangh Parivar outfits is opposed by the CPI(M) by terming it as communal agenda. The CPI(M) is also trying to hijack the Hindu festivals and icons held in high adoration and respect by the Sangh parivar units. The celebration of Sree Krishna Jayanthi and Vinayaka Chathurthi by the CPI (M) is part of this mission. Since the party failed miserably to organise Lord Krishna’s birth day festival at Kannur, the party leadership turned its ire on RSS activists who were in the forefront of the Janmashtami celebrations. Four RSS activists in Kannur district were hacked by the CPI(M) activists as a fall out of the party’s failure to make any impact on the Janmashtami festivities as people stayed away from the events organised by the comrades.

Kannur district in Kerala is what the 24 Parganas district in Bengal is for the CPI(M). There were 3200 branch committees and 200 local committees of the CPI (M) in Bengal. Once these units held sway all over the State but not anymore. The same is the case with the Kerala Unit of the CPI(M). Corruption, nepotism, greed and passion for all good things in life has eaten into the roots of the party in Kerala. The party leadership, devoid of any ideological commitments feel that its survival depends on the elimination as well as annihilation of the Sangh Parivar activists, whom the party fears is weaning away the youth.

The CPI(M) has murdered 81 RSS activists/ workers in the district of Kannur alone during the period 1969 to 2016. All these murders are the fall out of the stiff resistance offered by the Sangh activists when the CPI(M) workers tried to prevent them from going ahead with Sangh activities in Kannur district.

The CPI(M) does not allow other groups or parties to grow and flourish anywhere in the country as democracy is anathema to the comrades.

The State as a whole has seen nearly 400 activists of the Sangh Parivar, especially the RSS activists, losing their lives to the evil machinations of the CPI(M) during 1969 to 2016. Strangely, most of these murders go unreported/ under-reported by the Kerala media which has been hijacked by the CPI(M). One of our team member remembers the 2004 gruesome murder of Aswini Kumar, the RSS district secretary of Kannur by Islamic fundamentalists. The Kannur reporter of the channel Asianet reported that family disputes led to the murder of Aswini, a young and upcoming Sangh leader. Our Team Member did not take Asianet’s story at face value but did some more digging. The member rang up the Kannur Superintendent of Police who said that the murder was committed by Islamic terrorists!

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]his is just an example of how the journalists approach issues featuring the RSS and Sangh Parivar outfits. The good work done by the Sangh during natural disasters like tsunami or flood go un-reported whereas even small and negligible incidents are blown out of proportion by this self styled pro-active media.

The 2016 assembly election saw many BJP candidates putting up brave and exciting fight in traditional strongholds of the CPI(M) thanks to the good campaign work done by Sangh activists. If the trend continues, the CPI(M) leaders fear that they would lose their relevance in Kerala, one of its very few strongholds in the country.

The last two years saw the party upping its ante over issues like introduction of Sanskrit and Hindi in school curriculum and has also unleashed a media blitzkrieg causing fear in the minds of the minorities that there was a concerted move to saffronize school education in India. Though the Union Government has only posted some proposals/ suggestions for consideration by the general public with respect to the National Education Policy, the intellectual and Communist classes are already in a mission mode campaigning against the move by the Centre.

Over the years, the ABVP has emerged as a strong force in Kerala while the youth has lost interest in both the SFI as well as the DYFI (the student and youth organisations of the CPI(M)). This too has shocked the party leadership which feels that the growth of the RSS has to be prevented at all costs.

The CPI(M) does not allow other groups or parties to grow and flourish anywhere in the country as democracy is anathema to the comrades. They believe in annihilation instead of spirited debates and discussions. This is the leading cause for the CPI(M) targeting the best brains and dedicated activists of the Sangh Parivar.

Even after the reign of terror unleashed by the CPI(M) cadre all over the State, Pinarayi Vijayan, who also holds the portfolio of Home, told reporters on Sunday that he was not aware of any attacks carried out by the CPI(M) on its rivals. A person, no less than Bindu Krishnan, a prominent Congress leader in the State was heard telling TV channles on Sunday that Pinarayi Vijayan should speak like a Chief Minister and not like a party secretary. Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the other day that the CPI(M) has unleashed a reign of terror all over Kerala and something should be done urgently to bring normalcy back.
