Anand Mahindra responds after farmer’s humiliation at Mahindra showroom

After a video surfaced on social media platform wherein a farmer was insulted in a Mahindra showroom, caused a furor amongst netizens. The farmer claimed that he was mocked over his appearance and was insulted at a Mahindra showroom in Tumkur after he went there to choose a pick-up truck.

As seen in the video, the incident is shocking. Kempegowda, a farmer along with friends visited a Mahindra car showroom to buy a pickup, where he was taunted by a salesman for his attire. The showroom salesman in Tumkur, Karnataka was caught taunting a farmer while visiting the showroom. The salesman was seen verbally taunting the farmer for his attire when he visited the showroom to buy a car. Following the incident, the farmer also filed a complaint with the police.

The farmer said that the salesman told him that the car is not worth 10 rupees for him to buy. Insulted by this, Kempegowda then accumulated Rs.10 lakh in an hour and demanded immediate delivery of the car. He reached out to his friends for the money.

After netizens tagged the Mahindra group Chairman Anand Mahindra, he took to Twitter to share a message regarding the incident. He tweeted, “The Core Purpose of Mahindra Rise is to enable our communities & all stakeholders to Rise. And a key Core Value is to uphold the Dignity of the Individual. Any aberration from this philosophy will be addressed with great urgency.”

Tagging Anand Mahindra, News7 Tamil tweeted, “Not even 10 rupees… Did you come to buy a car?” The farmer who shook the car showroom in 1 hour.

While a netizen poured down his anger tweeting, “Anand Mahindra Every human is human and all have equal right. Yes we don’t have anything today may be tomorrow?? So, equality is must. Cash can’t decide all. #Mahindrashowroom.”

“A farmer was insulted for his looks by Mahindra Rise showroom and he returned with full cash to buy the truck. Anand Mahindra sir, please look into it. If true, I know this is not something that you would ever encourage!”, said a netizen.
