Pakistani-origin hand grenades and balloons with ‘I Love Pakistan’ markings recovered along LoC in Uri Sector of J&K’s Baramulla district

During multiple searches in J&K‘s Baramulla district, the Army recovered a huge consignment of arms and ammunition and “war-like stores“, including AK-74 rifles, Pakistani-origin hand grenades, and balloons with ‘I Love Pakistan’ markings, recovered along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The search operation yielded the recovery of a heavy quantity of war-like stores, which included eight AK series rifles along with 24 magazines and 560 live rounds, 12 Chinese hand grenades along with 24 magazines and 244 live rounds, nine Chinese hand grenades, and five Pakistani hand grenades.

Interestingly, the recovery also included 81 balloons with markings of “I love Pakistan” with the Pakistani flag marked on them. Five gunny bags with Pakistani markings were also found.

Addressing a media conference at the headquarters of the Army’s 19 infantry division in Baramulla town, GOC major general, Ajay Chandpuria, said that following multiple searches based on intelligence inputs from military intelligence and central agencies, a search operation was launched in the Masjid Nallah area of Hathlanga village close to the Line of Control (LoC) where a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.

The recoveries were made at a time when there is huge desperation on the Pakistani side to either infiltrate terrorists or smuggle war-like stores into Kashmir as the number of ultras and arms and ammunition was at an all-time low in the Valley, he said.

“The area is very close to the LoC and there is a huge Nallah with large boulders. There is foliage and thick cuttings on both sides of the Nallah. There are houses in the area. Our operation was assisted by optical intelligence,” the GOC said.

SSP Baramulla, Rayees Muhammad Bhat said during the press briefing that this recovery is among the largest interception of war-like stories which has been executed close to the LoC in recent years.

“Balloons, which are typically sent more frequently to the Jammu side, have been sent to the Valley side for the first time. It perhaps points to a kind of attempt to instigate certain propaganda again,” the SSP said.

  1. Can we get more ammunition from Pakistan and use them against them ?

Need to make more discoveries and use them against the enemy itself

  2. Modi and his BJP thinks all Indians lack brains. The media is controlled by their paid bhakts.
One recalls Arnab and his give away leaked remark on Pulwama.
Come to think of it. The man is not given publicity as it will attract old memories. And focus on embarrassing revelations.

  3. Do you all believe there will be gunny bags with Pakistani marks – Does it sound believable? At least grenades and guns will have the origin marks where it was manufactured, but even that will not be sent to Infiltrators is my belief. In my view, they will be manufactured and provided without the markings if it has to be used for these purposes. What do others think? It is easy to read certain things when listed in a table format, like the listing of items found. Item and qty. Easy to the eyes and mind.
