
Income Tax Dept swoops on the homes, offices of Rahul Kanal close friend of Aaditya Thackeray
A team from the Income Tax Department raided close aide of Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray, Rahul Kanal’s house this morning. A team from the Income Tax Department visited Kanal’s house in the Nine Almeida building on Bhabha Hospital Street in Bandra and is conducting the search.
The IT department swooped on the homes and offices of Rahul Kanal who is also a Trustee of Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, a confidante of Aditya Thackeray, and Sadanand Kadam, the brother of senior Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam, Sanjay Kadam, and a government official, among others.
Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray slammed the IT department’s action terming it as misuse of central probe agencies but vowed the Shiv Sena would not be cowed by such tactics.
The latest IT department action came after the February 25 raids on Shiv Sena Corporator Yashwant Jadhav and others in connection with alleged tax evasion on income worth over Rs.130 crore.
