Inside the FCRA controversy and global pushback
The United States of America, the Vatican, and the Deep State have joined hands to oust the Narendra Modi government in India as part of their plan to balkanize the subcontinent into many Christian and Islamic Republics. PGurus was the first media to report about the conspiracy being hatched by the Church and the Congress to oust Modi from power. The Church’s vehement opposition to the Foreign Contribution (Amendment) Act 2026 has snowballed into a hate campaign, and they use their ecosystem to peddle fake news that the Christians are under attack in India as their fundamental rights are being violated with impunity.
India has been shocked and jolted because of the threat issued by Riley Moore, a US Congressman belonging to the Republican Party. Moore said in a social media post that Christians are under attack in India, their rights are being violated, and the proposed FCRA Act 2026 is a violation of human rights. Moore is either ignorant of the situation in India, or he has been given the wrong information by the predominant Christian expatriates from India about the state of affairs.
Moore has warned that bilateral ties between India and the US would worsen if the Modi government goes ahead with the FCRA Act 2026. His threat as well as statement is a naked aggression against the sovereignty of India. The spokesman for the External Affairs Ministry of the Government of India scoffed at the threat, saying it was an internal matter and that the US has no right to meddle in our internal affairs.
Chris Smith, another Congressman affiliated to the GOP, had condemned the FCRA Act 2026 in an article he wrote for a US publication. “As Secretary of State Marco Rubio prepares to travel to New Delhi to meet Indian leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is poised to pass a law that could do lasting damage to the relations between our two countries,” Smith wrote in Washington Examiner, a right-leaning American publication. This was published days ahead of State Secretary Rubio’s official visit to New Delhi in July 2026. Taking a cue from Smith’s concern over the issue, Rubio flew down to Calcutta to visit the headquarters of Missionaries of Charity, one of the leading institutions in the world specializing in religious conversion. Though a section of the media had highlighted Rubio’s visit as a warning to the BJP-led Government, there was no communiqué from the EAM about the controversy.
Of late, a padri by name Cyriac Thundiyil, a notorious evangelist belonging to the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate), a congregation of the Catholic Church, has issued a threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that if they get the FCRA Bill passed in Parliament, all Christian and Islamic countries in the world would retaliate and isolate India. Cyriac Thundiyil, who travels all over the country to forcefully convert Hindus, charges that the Bill is against the religious freedom granted in the Constitution of India.
The FCRA Act 2026 has been drafted by the Ministry of Home Affairs after getting volumes of information and data from the Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing, Special Branches of various State Police forces, that the contributions collected by the Church and Christian Non-Governmental Organizations from abroad were being diverted to forcefully proselytize Hindus to Christianity. The Government of India has full details about the axis between the Church and the Left Wing Extremists whose only mission is to demolish Sanatana Dharma and convert India into a Christian republic. Though the proposed FCRA Act is expected to put an end to the massive religious conversion, the evangelists and the bishops are past masters in the business of proselytization.
The Union Home Ministry in its recent report disclosed that various Churches and Christian Non-Governmental Organizations received foreign donations worth Rs.22,963 crore during 2024-2025 while they mobilized Rs.56,000 crore during 2019-2022. Interestingly, the Churches and NGOs have not disclosed the details of the amount they received, and these were diverted for funding anti-national activities. On an average, these institutions get foreign contributions worth Rs.18,600 crore every year for nefarious activities. The DMK, a political party struggling to recover from the shock defeat it suffered in the 2026 Assembly election, had demanded that the Union Home Ministry tweak Section 15 of the FCRA, which empowers the Centre or the competent authority to seize the foreign contributions received by the NGOs and the Churches which have lost their registration due to failure in renewal of license and registration.
The declaration by the US Congressmen and the spiritual heads of the Church demanding the scrapping of the Bill shows their propensity to meddle in the internal affairs of India. This is not the first time the CIA and Vatican have interfered in India’s internal affairs. PGurus had mentioned the hundreds of thousands of dollars pumped into India by the CIA and Vatican to bring down the EMS Namboodiripad-led Communist government that came to power in 1957. The CIA succeeded in getting the EMS government dismissed by the Centre citing breakdown in law and order. The Morarji Desai government that came to power in 1977 was sabotaged by the Church-CIA-Vatican axis when the former was about to legislate the Freedom of Religion Bill, a law that would have prevented religious conversion by pressure, coercion or blackmail. Though no religions were mentioned by name, the Church, led by Theresa of the Missionaries of Charity, launched an all-India agitation demanding the cancellation of the Bill. Many MPs were made to defect from the Morarji Desai-led Janata Party to the secular brigade, and this resulted in the fall of the government. The Church and the CIA got a convenient scapegoat by name Chaudhary Charan Singh, a Jat leader from Uttar Pradesh whose only ambition was to become the Prime Minister of India. Two days after Charan Singh was sworn in as Prime Minister, the Congress withdrew support to his government for reasons best known only to the party leadership.
The CIA and the US administration do not allow governments inimical to them to toe their line. Many African and Latin American governments were ousted through military coups to usher in governments that act as puppets of Washington. This has been explained in detail by David Talbot in his celebrated work “The Devil’s Chessboard” (published by Harper Collins). Talbot says in the book that there are two Secretaries of State in the US administration; one to deal with countries which follow the diktats of the US while the second Secretary of State (operating secretly) handles governments classified as “errant” by the CIA. The list of governments that were sabotaged by the US is endless. More than democracy, what drew the ire of the US administration was the scant respect the heads of such governments had for the diktats issued by the Vatican.
The padris are like the fidayeens/ jihadis of Islamic terrorist groups. Their only mission is to convert people from other religions to Christianity. The padris are bold enough to work in any unfavorable terrain. Alexis Prem Kumar, a Jesuit padri from Tamil Nadu, was abducted from Herat province in Afghanistan in June 2014. He was working for Jesuit Refugee Services, a proselytization force engaged in religious conversion. Those were the days when India had no ties with the Taliban government in Kabul. Still, the then minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj worked against all odds, established contacts with the Taliban leadership and got the padri released from their custody. One needs a lot of courage and conviction to evangelize the Islamists, and this is what Alexis Prem Kumar was doing. If they can operate in a country which is under the control of Islamic zealots, what kind of work will they do in India?
It is time the Hindus learnt the truth that the Christians have only hatred and contempt for them. Never fall for the smile on the face of the padris because their mission is to finish off the Sanatana Dharma. They operate silently and laugh all the way to the Vatican.
