Sending a loud and clear message to the outside world that they are happy with the decision of the Narendra Modi led BJP government which scrapped Article 370 and bifurcated the state in to two Union Territories, several senior citizens along with local residents hailing from Shopian, considered hotbed of militancy, Wednesday welcomed National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, and DGP Dilbagh Singh, with open arms.
There was no tension in the air. The bonhomie between the civilians and senior security officials was visible as they sat together and ate delicious ‘lunch‘ sitting on the footsteps of local shops in the deserted market area.
During informal chatting, Doval also gathered feedback from the civilians. He asked about their well being, apple crop and expressed hope that normalcy will be restored soon.
Discussing objective behind the historic move, Doval assured local residents that their welfare was the government’s prime concern.
Shaking hands with civilians, one by one, NSA asked about their feedback.
When one of the senior citizens invoked God Almighty, Doval responded and sought his blessings too.
He delivered a crisp message and made it clear all these security measures have been taken to ensure they are well being.
“Yes, everything will be fine. Everyone should live peacefully. Whatever the almighty does is good. Your security and well being is our only concern. We are thinking about the growth and welfare of your generations,” the NSA said.
Later he also met with security personnel in Shopian in the presence of DGP Dilbag Singh.
“The whole country is proud of CRPF. Wherever there is a need, the personnel are deployed and they have always managed the situation well. In Kashmir also we are very proud of your discipline, morale and work ethics”, he told the security personnel.
Doval also met with the personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police.

No tension in the air but a eserted market area !!!
Definitely there is an undercurrent in favor of the Indian Union as the Kashniris are concerned. One of my known army officers told that the demographics are changed since 70 years, though the Aam Admi need a peace and food. Those Pak batters had showed them that the shown pelting is a profession. With the migrant from other part of India, I hope, Biharis, Marwaris and North East will get into the valley, especially in the tourism section would try to change the look of the Valley. This may improve the local employment. Also, we need to push the Pakistani occupants in POK out side of the Border. Before this we should claim the Gligit Pakistan that will make China to think. This is the first step before any further.
Constant vigil is the need of the hour. The lull may be what is experienced before a storm.
