Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately terminate Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Sanjay Jain for unethical conduct of representing CBI, Income Tax and SEBI in the NDTV cases, hiding the fact that he represented NDTV earlier in the ICICI Bank Loan fraud case.
…he is working on a temporary basis, you may consider terminating his services with immediate effect to ensure that our fight against corruption is not compromised…
– Swamy
Swamy was responding to the PGurus Article on how Sanjay Jain acted unprofessionally by representing Income Tax and CBI and SEBI on NDTV cases.
“I write this letter to express great concern that our Party which is strongly fighting against corruption but the performance of Law Officers is diluting this. …“The facts contained in this news item express that Additional Solicitor General Mr. Sanjay Jain failed to disclose to the court that he had appeared for the NDTV case earlier and that now he is appearing in the connected matter on the opposite side. This is a conduct unbecoming of a high official of the Government.”
“Therefore, in view of the fact that the tenure of the Additional Solicitor General is now completed and he is working on a temporary basis, you may consider terminating his services with immediate effect to ensure that our fight against corruption is not compromised,” said Swamy.
