Modi govt to install a statue of Netaji at India Gate, PM to unveil hologram on Jan 23

The Modi Government has always focused on giving our freedom fighters their long-due respect. After years of demand, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is getting recognition.

In a historic decision, PM Narendra Modi on Friday announced that a grand statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be installed at the India Gate, commemorating him on his 125th birth anniversary. He stated that till the granite statue is completed, a ‘hologram‘ of Bose will be displayed there.

PM Modi tweeted, “Till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is completed, a hologram statue of his would be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on 23rd January, Netaji’s birth anniversary.”

PM Modi-led government had announced that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary on January 23 will be celebrated as Parakram Diwas and the Republic Day celebrations from this year will start from 23rd Jan every year.

The inclusion of Netaji’s birthday is in line with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s “focus to commemorate important aspects of our history and culture.”

The Centre has already renamed Howrah Kalka Mail as “Netaji Express”. Netaji’s postal stamp was released during a program at Victoria Memorial and National Library Programme in Kolkata.

The Centre also formed a high-level committee headed by Modi and comprising of ministers, experts, historians, authors, family members of Netaji and INA associates to commemorate Netaji’s 125th birth anniversary.

The Modi government took major steps in recognizing and giving long-due respect to our freedom fighters and heroes. October 31 was declared as National Unity Day to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in respect of Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, and December 26 as Veer Baal Divas which is a tribute to the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh who were martyred.
