Pawan Kalyan says ‘deeply disturbed’ with Tirupati Laddu report; bats for Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has proposed the establishment of a ‘Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board‘ to address issues related to temples across India. His remarks come in the wake of a controversy surrounding the alleged use of animal fat in the iconic Tirupati Laddu, raising significant concerns among devotees.

In a post on social media platform X, Kalyan expressed his deep disturbance over the findings that purportedly revealed fish oil, pork fat, and beef fat mixed in the offerings of Tirupati Balaji. He emphasized the need for accountability from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which was established under the previous YSR Congress Party (YCP) government.

“This matter highlights broader issues surrounding the desecration of temples, land disputes, and other dharmic practices,” Kalyan stated. He added that the time has come for a national-level board dedicated to protecting Sanatana Dharma and resolving temple-related issues across the country.

Kalyan called for a collective national debate involving policymakers, religious leaders, judiciary members, and citizens to unite against any form of desecration of Sanatana Dharma. “We all should come together to put an end to this,” he urged.

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh shared a video clip of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who claimed that animal fat had previously been used in the sacred ‘Tirupati Prasadam‘ instead of traditional ghee. Lokesh criticized the Y S Jagan administration for failing to respect the religious sentiments of millions of devotees.

TDP spokesperson Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy alleged that lab tests confirmed the presence of beef tallow and other animal fats in the ghee used for the offerings. He stated, “The Hindu religion is offended by this,” and expressed hopes for justice regarding the issue.

As the controversy unfolds, calls for accountability and respect for religious practices continue to resonate among devotees and political leaders alike.
