PM Modi outshines world leaders with exceptional approval ratings — leaves no doubt about his charisma!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again topped the list of the world’s most popular leaders with an approval rating of 76 percent, leaving behind Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak, Anthony Albanese, and many other heads of state, according to a survey.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to top global ratings among world leaders with an approval rating of 76 percent, according to a survey by Morning Consult.

PM Modi has consistently retained an approval rating above 71 percent since the Global Leadership Approval project compiled by Morning Consult was launched in August 2019. Since the year 2022, the rating of PM Modi has been above 75 percent.

According to the US-based consultancy firm’s ‘Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker‘ 76 percent of people approve of PM Modi’s leadership, while 18 percent disapprove of it and six percent did not give any opinion.

Notably, this is a huge number by a far margin, as the second-best approval rating is enjoyed by Switzerland President Alain Berset (64 percent) and Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (61 percent).

US President Joe Biden has a 40 percent approval, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has 37 percent, UK PM Rishi Sunak ratings stood at 27 percent, and France President Emmanuel Macron stood at just 24 percent.

According to Morning Consult, the ratings are based on over 20,000 global interviews conducted online daily. The global leader and country trajectory data is based on a seven-day moving average of all adults in a given country, with a margin of error of between 1-4 percent. While the average sample size is around 45,000 in the United States, for other countries including India, the sample size ranges from roughly 500-5,000. In India, the sample is representative of the literate population.

India recently successfully hosted the G20 Summit in the national capital, hosting over 40 global leaders and their delegations. India’s theme for the G20 Presidency was ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam‘ – ‘One Earth One Family One Future’.

At the Leader’s Summit, the New Delhi Declaration was adopted unanimously with full consensus. A major standout of the declaration was bringing all global powers on the same page and forging consensus on an issue as divisive as the Russia-Ukraine war.

A major and historic takeaway of India’s presidency of the G20 Summit has been the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the Group of 20 (G20).
