Admonished by SC for trying to over smart.
After rejecting the Advocate’s version of what happened in the INX Media case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday, asked former Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s son Karti to appear before the investigators on January 16, 2018 in the INX Media bribe case. Karti sent an advocate before the agency on January 11 and investigators found that the advocate’s versions were unconvincing about the money trail from INX Media owners Peter and Indrani Mukherjeas to Karti linked firms.
ED has unearthed the INX Media bribe case during their raids at Karti’s firms in connection with Aircel-Maxis scam and handed over the details to CBI.
Karti was caught for accepting around Rs. Five crores for grating illegal Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearances by he then Finance Minister father Chidambaram.
Official sources said that Karti has now been called by the agency on January 16 to be present in person. Sources said that an authorized representative of Karti Chidambaram had met officials probing the case and handed over some documents.
ED has unearthed the INX Media bribe case during their raids at Karti’s firms in connection with Aircel-Maxis scam and handed over the details to CBI. The CBI raided Chidambaram’s home and registered a First Information Report (FIR) on this regard.
Meanwhile, on January 11, Karti’s junior advocate was admonished by the Supreme Court in the Aircel-Maxis case. On January 10 the Bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra saw through the tricks played by Karti and firms and asked them to appear before the 2G bench comprising of Justices Arun Mishra and Mohan Shantanagoudar[1].
“We are happy the matter is finally being heard by this bench…,” said Karti’s junior advocate in a bid to placate the Bench after being caught for Bench hopping.
“What do you mean you’re happy? We are here to do our constitutional duty… don’t say all that…,” said Justice Arun Mishra, admonishing the junior advocate who tried to be over smart.
Karti’s junior advocate pleaded to the Judges that he did not get any senior lawyer and sought a fresh date to argue. Not budging an inch, the Bench told the junior advocate to mention the matter on Friday, January 12, to get a date for a hearing.
The 2G bench of Supreme Court has already directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and ED to file the complete status of the probe report in Aircel-Maxis scam on January 23. In the previous hearing, the main petitioner Subramanian Swamy and Special Prosecutor Anand Grover and the ED had submitted affidavits and status reports, the main agency CBI sought some more time[2].

Undeniably consider that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the internet the easiest thing to have in mind of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed even as people consider concerns that they just don’t understand about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest as smartly as|and also|and} defined out the entire thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thanks
